Welcome to the School Street Bistro. I thought that perhaps you would be interested in how School Street Bistro came into being. First of all, I have a passion for good food, and I enjoy good restaurants and camaraderie.
School Street Bistro formerly housed the Columbia Meeting House around the turn of the century, and according to Tom Pitoniak, a local historian, acted as a gathering place for plays, boxing matches and social events.
A Bistro restaurant continues the original purpose of the meeting house serving as a gathering place for lunch, dinner, drinks, business meetings, social functions, and more.
To accomplish this goal I enlisted the help of my brother Nick, with thirty years of food service experience and the services of a friend, John, with administrative and marketing expertise. Together we set out to create a Bistro that the whole community can enjoy. We have put together a staff that brings a sense of professionalism and cordiality to the restaurant.
Some of the community affairs that School Street Bistro has participated in are: Hosting the Nobel Hospital Charity Ball for two years, Kamp for Kids Benefit Dinner, participation in the Jimmy Fund held at the Exposition Grounds, and The Taste of Westfield.
Whether it be for socializing in the lounge and listening to the entertainment Thursday through Saturday, or enjoying a lunch or dinner with friends, family or business associates, the School Street Bistro will provide the ambiance, service, and exquisite dining.
